Getting your nails done with Sally, Sama and Sarah at simply nails is one of those beauty experiences that is truly worth every penny. It's relaxed whilst you have it done, you are getting really high quality products and service and then like having a bunch of beautiful flowers you get that happy feeling every time you look down at them - for me it's weeks of feeling like you have you life together because my hands look immaculate and I get so many compliments!

The best in manicures, pedicures and nail care. Quality products and attention to detail lead to results that last - at least four weeks for a gel manicure, in my case - which equates to excellent value for money, too. Most importantly the owner and staff are friendly people and create a warm, inviting atmosphere in the shop. I've been a customer of Simply Nails for a very long time now and really wouldn't go anywhere else. Sally, the owner, who I see, has many years' experience in the industry and, whilst moving with the times in terms of product range, hasn't abandoned the traditional techniques of the good manicure - namely taking time and filing by hand. Her expertise also leads to greater care than anywhere else about other matters such as cuticles and the compatibility of the various painted layers - base, colour, etc. She is adept at solving problems: breakage, damage and so on can be mended; and always has a suggestion for what colour to pick. On that note, the salon have a comprehensive range of colours, from subtle to wild, which is frequently updated. Sally is also the only person I know who can produce a smooth and durable finish with chrome powder. Thoroughly recommended!

I was 'that annoying customer' who popped her head into the salon at 2pm on Christmas Eve asking if there was any chance they could do a BIAB re-do, expecting to be laughed out the salon - but Sally very kindly agreed to it, despite the fact she wasn't really working!! I'd have been happy with any level of service at that point - but was blown away by the incredibly high level of service I received. Sally is a very capable and experienced nail technician who obviously cares about her work and is much loved by her customers - exemplified by the rapport she had with others in the salon at the time. I'm a bit too used to nail bars in London where you feel like you are on a production line, so it was so lovely to receive a more personalised service - with everything done meticulously by hand, rather than machine - with so much care and consideration. It made such a difference! The shape she filed was perfect (best I've ever had) and the colour she recommended is divine! I was so grateful that she gave up her own personal time to do my nails. It was a Christmas miracle 🤣 If I could have, I would have booked my 2025 Christmas Eve appointment there and then to be more prepared! (To start a new tradition!) I will ONLY ever go there when in Colchester (esp given my previous experience at a different Colchester salon - see an older review!!) (I just hope she's as understanding when I pop my head back in to ask if she can fix the chunk I chopped out of one on Boxing Day when cutting gherkins 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🤭😰)

Had a wonderful luxury manicure today with Sally. Her attention to detail is amazing especially her cuticle work. Many salons neglect the cuticle work but it makes such a difference to the end result. The products she uses are the highest quality and smell amazing. Her years of experience are clear to see with me leaving with the most gorgeous gel manicure. I highly recommend this salon

I have had my nails done at Simply Nails for over 20 years. Apart from always being delighted with the results I really enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere. Sally is an excellent nail technician and I trust her completely. I consider her a good friend. I now have gel nails as the different processes have evolved over the years and they last a good three weeks. I am never disappointed. If something happens to my nails it is my fault and I go back and get it repaired. If you have a special occasion it is well worth booking early as Simply Nails has a vast number of regular loyal clients. Special thanks to Sally for all the years you have manicured, painted, buffed and gelled my nails.

I have known Sally and her salon for many years, and I am always very pleased with my nails. The salon, has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and nothing is too much for the staff. I have quite a hands on job, which can be very hard on my nails. Due to this, Sally and her team suggested I try gel nails. I have never looked back, the gel nails can withstand a lot and come in the same beautiful colours as the normal nail option offered in the salon. Long may it last!
