*Guitarists and nails - read this* I was dubious about visiting a nail salon for the first time. Fact is, although I prefer to finger-pick, before any gig, I live in dread of the nails on my picking hand breaking, as I have such weak nails. Many, many solutions have been attempted over the years. But not a nail salon ... until last week. I wandered into USA Nails, told them my issue, and was reassured when the first question was "how many nails?", rather than a blank look. Turns out they have a few guitarists on their books. I said in more detail what I wanted, and after a while, I have a strong set of (4) nails. The technicians were very friendly, and the price was very fair. I am happy with the sound on the guitar. So, I shall return in a month or so, as the nails grow out, and ask for some minor modifications, now I understand what longer fingernails mean as a player. It's also good that the nails look totally natural, just longer. I thought I would have to live with some weird "neutral" colour, but no - they just look like my own nails, only longer, and way stronger. Thank you
